What is the University Card?

The University Card is a smart card developed by the University of Salamanca in collaboration with the Banco Santander, which offers various services, both within and outside the University.

Where can I apply for it?

Students:

In the Secretary's Office of your Centre either upon registration or at any other moment by completing the application form and attaching an original photograph.

University staff:

In the Administration and Service Office for PDI or in the Administration and Service Office (Patio de Escuelas, 1), by completing the application form and attaching an original photograph.

Remember that in no way is it obligatory to open an account with Banco Santander to obtain the University Card. This would only be necessary if you wish to use the card as a 4B type credit card.

What to do if...

1. I do not receive the card: Get in touch with the General Secretary's Office by calling +34 923 294 415 or with Banco Santander by calling +34 923 258 799, Campus Miguel de Unamuno; +34 923 265 981 historic centre office or 980 211 113 Zamora Street office.
2. I lose the card, it is damaged or does not work: students should contact the Secretary's office of their Centre. University staff should contact General Secretary's office.
3. A University Information Point (UIP) retains the card: Inform the Secretary of the Centre so that it can be returned to you.
4. I find a card: Hand it in to the Reception or Secretary's office of the nearest Centre.
5. The chip is deactivated: You can activate it at any of the UIPs

The functions of the card are the following:

1. Consulting marks: at the University of Salamanca Information Points by entering your personal ID and secret code (codes are issued by the Secretary's office of each Centre).
2. Loan of books and computers: quickly and easily at any of the University's libraries.
3. Discounts on a range of products and services: presenting your personal ID you will benefit from generous discounts in many different shops and businesses. Commercial Guide.
4. Cash Card: which you can use freely within or outside the University. You can check your balance either at the UIPs, or 4B cash machines.
5. If you have not received your card yet and you need to know your Personal Identification Number (PIN) to activate your University email account, you can acess your PIN and bar code on the University of Salamanca web service site.
6. Car park access or discounts on paid parkings. (Only available for the University Community)
